John Mariana

John J. Mariana "Jake", age 78, of Havertown, passed away on January 7, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John J. Mariana, Sr. and Elizabeth Mariana (nee Dougherty). John was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a truck driver in Philadelphia with the Teamsters Local Union.



John is survived by his wife of 55 years Ann M. Mariana (nee Morrow), his children Elizabeth Pfeffinger (Tom), John P. Mariana, Diane P. O'Connor (Marty), Patricia Griffiths (Bob), Joanne Mulholland and Paul M. Mariana (Cindy), his sister Joan Cassidy and his 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 8 siblings and 2 grandchildren.



Mr. Mariana was a family man who loved spending time at the beach with his children and his grandchildren.



Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, January 10 from 8:30-10:00 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA. Interment private.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
