John A. McDonald, Jr., 82, of Thorndale, PA passed away on May 23, 2013.



Born in 1930 in Teaneck, NJ, John was the son of Catherine (Cronin) and John A. McDonald, Sr., both deceased.



He served honorably in the US Marine Corps and worked as a Telecommunications Manager for Federal Electric Corp.



John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jacqueline M. (Mongeon) McDonald in 2006.



He was the loving father of John A. McDonald, III (Pamela) of Bordentown, NJ, Catherine R. Nunn (James) of East Pikeland, Maureen A. Carr (Michael) of Vernon, NJ, Kevin C. McDonald (Heather Anne) of Tucson, AZ, James G. McDonald (Tracy) of Pasadena, MD and David M. McDonald (Amy) of Downingtown; beloved grandfather of Kaitlyn, Stephen, Jacqueline, Cara, Brendan, Erin, Patrick, Ryan, Megan, Daniel, Lauren, Aidan, Liam, Brandon, Kelly and Alyssa; dear brother of Vincent Kenneth McDonald (Carol Lou) and Thomas F. McDonald (Carol Ann).



Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 6:00-9:00 PM Tuesday Eve and Wednesday 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA, 610-269-3080 and to his Funeral Mass 1:00 PM Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, 338 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA. Int. Thursday 11:30 AM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, NJ.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Home Care Foundation, 240 Radnor Chester Rd, Radnor, PA 19087.
