UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION
John P. "Jack" McElvenny, Jr., 87, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, Succasunna, NJ, and Bardstown, KY, passed away March 11, 2020.
Born August 23, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late John P., Sr. and Mary L. “Violet” (nee Sands) McElvenny. He was a 1950 graduate of LaSalle College High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from LaSalle College in 1954. He served honorably in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in France.
Jack was an owner operator of a pipe distributorship until his retirement in 1999. He was then able to continue traveling with his wife, spending summers at his home in Ocean City NJ, golfing, and visiting with family and longtime friends. Jack remained a loyal and avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles, LaSalle Explorers, and cowboy and action movies.
He was the beloved husband of the late Anne (nee O'Donnell); loving father of John P. III (Linda), Eileen Gatti (Bernard), Patricia Mueller (Richard), and Kate McElvenny; Pop-Pop of John “Jay”, IV McElvenny, Caitlin McElvenny, Kevin Gatti, Meghan Gatti, Kathleen Gatti, Timothy Mueller, and Daniel Mueller; dear brother of the late Bernard McElvenny, Mary Owen (the late Ron); and caring brother in law of Eileen Foley (the late John). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life Mass 11 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Ss Philip and James Church, 107 N Ship Rd, Exton, PA 19341
