John (J.) W. Newton, age 82, of Medford, NJ, passed away on July 20, 2017. Born in Duncan, OK, he was the son of the late Willard and Verona Newton (nee Hembree).
John (J.) received his Bachelor's Degree from Central State University in Oklahoma. He was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for the State of Oklahoma. J. loved spending time with his family, enjoyed fishing, loved the ocean and being at the Ocean City, NJ shore. He also loved the Oklahoma Sooners Football and the Philadelphia Phillies. He also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra and Big Band Music.
John (J.) is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Newton (nee Vance), his loving daughter, Jonna Hannan (the late David), his grandchildren Darryl and Elizabeth Hannan, and Kealy and Katie Squires and his sister, Gladys Taylor. He was preceded in death by daughter Cindy Newton, brother Kenneth Newton, and sister Imogene Kearney.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visit the family Thursday, July 27, 2017 10:30 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600 and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214 would be appreciated.
