John Niefer, Sr.

John E. Niefer, Sr., 76, of Broomall, formerly of SW Philadelphia, passed away on September 29, 2016.
He was the son of the late Eugene and Frances (nee McGrath) Niefer. John served honorably in the US Army and worked for the US Postal Service for over 40 years, serving most of his career in Broomall. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan of all Philadelphia teams.
John was the beloved husband of the late Eileen P. Niefer (nee Dwyer); the loving father of Diane Caporella (Joe), Dolores Narvaez (Hank), and John E. Niefer, Jr. (Kim); the loving grandfather of AJ, Matthew, Noelle, Kevin, Peyton, and Paige; the dear brother of Joan Rau; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 followed by his Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 would be appreciated.
