John A. Polchek, 89, of Downingtown, PA passed away on January 14, 2014 at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown.
Born in 1927 in Philadelphia, John was the son of the late Wilma Stenzel and Rudolph Polchek.
He served honorably in the US Navy during World War II and worked as a machinist.
John was the beloved husband of Ruth C. Polchek; loving father of Marianne E. Dolan (Jack), Kathleen A. Kennedy (Mark) and Stephen J. Polchek (Alison); loving grandfather of Amanda (Charles), Jack, Alyssa, Maryclair, Daniel, Brian, Christopher, Joseph, Alexandra; and great-grandfather of Charlie.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00-10:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335 and to his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Saturday. Interment St. Augustine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aid for Friends, 12271 Townsend Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
