John (“Jack”) Thomas Quigley, a life-long resident of Philadelphia and Upper Darby, died quietly at home on December 23, 2022 at the age of 91.
Jack is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Steck and brother-in-law, Harry, 11 nieces and nephews, 8 grand nieces, 1 grand nephew, 2 great grand nieces, and 1 great grand nephew. He was predeceased by his brothers James and Thomas and his parents, James and Marie and dear friend Elizabeth Wilson.
Jack was a graduate of West Catholic Boys High School and the American Institute of Banking. He spent his business career with Bank of New York - Mellon, formerly Upper Darby National Bank and Girard Trust Bank, advancing from Branch Manager to Trust Officer.
Jack was a huge football fan, especially of Villanova and could be found cheering and encouraging the players at their practices so frequently that he was made an honorary coach.
In retirement, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.
Jack was generous throughout his life supporting numerous charities.
He was an extraordinary and loving big brother, always there to offer support, wisdom and guidance throughout his life. His passing will leave a big void in the hearts of the family.
Visitation services will precede 10:30 AM Mass on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 9:30 AM in St. Laurence Lower Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA followed by interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA
