John R. "Jack" Robertson, 91, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 21, 2017.
Born in 1925 in Glasgow, Scotland, Jack was the son of the late James and Jessie (Russell) Robertson.
He was a Chemist and an Associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and the Plastics Institute in the United Kingdom.
Jack was an avid if not accomplished golfer, who also liked sailing, hiking in the Scottish Highlands his younger days and later in life walking in Ridley Creek State Park. He had a lifelong devotion to the Glasgow Rangers club and Scotland national soccer teams, which often was more of an exercise in perpetual hope than victory. He was intellectually curious and loved exploring history and new places. Jack also very much enjoyed sharing a single malt whisky and a story with good friends and his boys.
He was a kind gentleman and a role model to us all. Jack left us as he lived with us, with dignity and gentleness.
Jack was the beloved husband of Sarah C. (Ballantyne) Robertson; loving father of John (Dianna) and Craig (Lisa); and step-grandfather of Zach Smith. He also held dear his nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, James "Jimmy" Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online in Jack's name to the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation under the "Ways to Give" page at www.mainlinehealth.org. Donations by mail to HomeCare & Hospice Foundation, 240 North Radnor Chester Road, Suite 100, Radnor PA 19087
