John Savage

April 14, 1936 — February 1, 2015

John C. "Jack" Savage, age 78, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on February 1, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William H. and Marie Savage (nee Connor).



Jack was a 1954 graduate of West Catholic High School. He was a 1958 graduate St. Joseph's University where he played basketball and was part of two tournament teams which were coached by Jack Ramsay. He was also the captain his senior year. He then went on to be a long time employee of Lankenau Hospital where he was their Chief Financial Officer and he later became the first Chief Financial Officer of Main Line Health when it was established. After his retirement he served on the Board of Directors of The Saunders House and Camilla Hall. Jack loved spending time with his family and also the Jersey shore, especially Sea Isle.



Beloved husband of 54 years to Edna M. Savage (nee Dougherty). Dear father of Donna Friel (Sean) and Lynda Costello (Patrick). Also survived by his grandchildren Brian, Caroline, Michael, Kristen, Patrick and Grace.



Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Friday, February 6, 2015 7:00-9:00 P.M. THE DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA (610) 353-6300 and Saturday, February 7, 2015 10:00-10:50 A.M. St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media, PA 19063 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M.



Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA
