John E. Shalles

John E. "Big John" Shalles, age 63, passed away April 7, 2023.  Beloved son of the late Robert E. Shalles and Shirley H. Shalles (nee Kalbach). John was born in Montgomery County and attended Valley Forge Military Academy.  He spent his 20's in Seattle, Washington before moving back to Delaware County to grow his family.  John was an auto mechanic and took over his father's business, Shall-Martin Garage, Inc.  John was a dog lover and owned many dogs throughout his life, most recently Milo and Maisie, his beloved french bulldogs.  He also enjoyed spending time in Somers Point, New Jersey.  

John is survived by his wife, Debra A. Shalles, and loving children, Jennifer L. Urgino (Isagani), Julianne Shalles, David J. Shields, Lindsey M. Shalles, and Sarah E. Shalles, 2 grandchildren and sister Diane.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Friday, April 14 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Please dress casually (no suit and tie required).

In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be donated to the charity of your choice in the name of John E. Shalles.
