John K. Tagland, Sr.

John Knute Tagland, Sr., 92, of Collegeville, PA, formerly of Lionville and Honey Brook, PA, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, with loving family by his side.

Born May 18, 1931 in Camden, NJ, he was a son of the late Engel A., Sr., and Signa G. (nee Gustavsen) Tagland. Raised in Pennsauken, NJ and attended Merchantville High School.

John served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, as an Airborne Radio Operator, traveling all over Europe, Africa, Middle East, Iceland, Germany, etc. Worked as a field engineer, systems engineer and program manager for Burroughs Corporation / Unisys.

Enjoyed summers on Long Beach Island, boating on the Chesapeake, working in yard, lunch with old friends, traveling and winters in St. Augustine, FL.

John was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth J. (nee Gahn) Tagland; loving father of Bonnie L. Eichenlaub (David), John K. Tagland, Jr. (Debra), and Donna J. Collier (Greg Barndt); adoring grandfather of Erik Eichenlaub (Jennifer), Cody Eichenlaub, Joshua Tagland, Jacob Tagland, and Zachary Collier; proud great-grandfather of Rasmus and Freya Eichenlaub; and dear brother of Norman C. Tagland. He was predeceased by his siblings: Engel A. Tagland, Jr., R. Stanley Tagland, and Robert C. Tagland, Sr.

Services will be private.
