John Thistle, Sr.

John A. "Jack" Thistle, Sr., age 75, of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on October 11, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Albert and Catherine Thistle (nee Brennan).
Jack was a 1958 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill. He served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division. He was employed with the United States Post Office in Bryn Mawr, PA for 37 years. He retired in 2001. He was a crossing guard at Annunciation BVM School and Cardinal Foley School, both in Havertown, for 14 years.
He was predeceased by his son, John A. Thistle, Jr. He is survived by his wife Amelia V. "Amy" Thistle (nee McCrosson), his daughter-in-law, Linda Thistle, his siblings Diane Thistle (Denise), Thomas Thistle (Judy), Gregory Thistle (Debbie) and Neil Thistle (Jen) and his grandchildren Brian Anthony Thistle (Becky) and Christopher Cristiano (Jill).
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday 10:00-11:00 AM Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA and to his Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory to Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Avenue, Ridley Park, PA 19078 would be appreciated.
