Joseph E. “Joe” Adamski, Sr., age 93, of Glenolden, PA, passed away on September 22, 2020. Joe lived in Glenolden for 54 years before residing in Broomall Manor.
Born in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late George and Caroline (nee Zawilenski) Adamczyk.
Joe served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed on the USS Dayton. While in port in Philadelphia, Joe met his wife, Alice, to whom he was married for 70 years. After the War, he was employed for 46 years as a locksmith for the University of Pennsylvania. Joe was active in his church, serving as an usher at Our Lady of Fatima for over 50 years. He also coached little league baseball for the Glenolden Boys Club and enjoyed watching and cheering on all the Philadelphia sports teams. Joe too was an avid gardener.
Joe was the beloved husband of the late Alice F. (nee Russell) Adamski; the loving father of Carolyn Merritt (the late Irv), Barbara Sykes (John) and Joseph E. Adamski, Jr. (Cheryl); the devoted grandfather of Michael, Steven, John, Brian, Jennifer, Lisa, Joseph, and Rachel, great-grandfather of Avery, Michaela, Julianna, Jaci, Brody, Devon and Madelyn, great-great grandfather of Teagan.
Services and interment will be held privately.
