Joseph P. Amato, age 94, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully, amidst his family on April 27, 2017, after a short stay at Park Lane Rehab in West Chester, PA.
Born in 1923, in Grammichele, a small town in Sicily, Italy, "Uncle Joe" was the son of Salvatore and Maria Amato. He came to the United States at the age of 12.
He graduated St. John University in 1946 and worked for E.R. Squibb (now Bristol Myers Squibb) as a Quality Assurance Supervisor until he retired in 1980.
He is survived by two nephews and a niece, many grandnephews and grandnieces and many great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-10:30 AM Monday, May 8, 2016 at Sts. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA followed by his Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM. Interment Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joseph's name are requested for Sts. Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382-7998.
