Joseph Bové, Jr.

Joseph E. Bové, Jr., 81, of West Chester, PA and formerly of Bala Cynwyd, PA passed away on October 8, 2017.
Born in 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph E. and Anne Marie (McHugh) Bové, Sr.
He was a 1957 graduate of Villanova University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. He worked for Philadelphia Electric and then for Sun Oil Company for 27 years as a Systems Analyst until his retirement in 1991.
He was an avid runner and golfer, member of Hershey's Mill Golf Club, and life long Villanova basketball fan fortunate enough to see his team win two national championships.
Joseph enjoyed volunteering in various ways, including as a Junior Achievement Instructor for 10 years, as an Extraordinary Minister and lector for St. Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd, of which he was a Parishioner for 30 years and also at SS Peter & Paul Church in West Chester. In addition, Joe was involved in East Goshen Township fundraising and served as President of Quaker Village at Hershey's Mill as well as Treasurer of the Master Association.
Joseph was the beloved husband for 60 years of Joan P. (Hart) Bové; loving father of Joseph E. Bové, III (Cindy), Joan Andrade (Richard), Michael Bové (Alexis) and Mary Catherine Garofalo (The late Frank); loving grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen Fernandez and 1 grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00-10:30 AM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at SS Peter & Paul Church, 1325 Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM. Int. Private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Salvation Army, 250 E. Market St, West Chester, PA 19380.
