Joseph Dougherty, Sr.

Joseph W. Dougherty, Sr. "Joe Doc", 82, of Collingdale, PA, formerly of Schuylkill, passed away on April 1, 2016.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Charles & Florence (nee Brown) Dougherty, he graduated from Southeast Catholic High School and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Joe was the beloved husband of the late Carmella (nee Delabert) Dougherty. The loving father of Karen M. Helker (Dave), Joseph W. Jr. (John) & Marybeth Dougherty. Grandfather of Matthew & Michael Helker. Brother of Charles Dougherty, Jr., predeceased by his sisters Theresa & Florence.
Joe worked as a Yard Master for Conrail, retiring after 30 years of service in 2002. He was an avid bowler and Philly sports fan, and loved spending time with his family, especially at the shore.
Relatives & friends are invited to his viewing 7:00-9:00 PM on Tuesday April 5, 2016 & 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday April 6, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home 3300 West Chester Pike Newtown Square, Pa 19073 followed by his Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. Pius X Church Lawrence Rd. Broomall, Pa. Interment at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
