Joseph James Facenda Sr. (Age 94)

A man with a great sense of humor and a gentle soul, Joe Facenda died on April 27, 2024.

Joseph, a devoted husband, was predeceased by his beloved Susan, his wife of 62 years. An ever loving father, he is survived by his four sons Joseph Jr. (Mindy Facenda), David (Carlos Loureiro), Paul (Megan Facenda), and Stephen (Todd Babish), and Gramps to his five grandchildren (Jamie, Eli, Rosemary, Becky, and Paul) and three great grandchildren (Warren, Ella, and Penelope).  Joe will be greatly missed by his family, relatives, and many lifelong friends.

Joe often told the story of seeing Susan in class when they were both in Upper Darby High School and saying, “I am going to marry that girl.”  Joe and Susan went on to get married and devote themselves to raising their four boys, spending most of their time living in Wallingford, PA. Beyond his devotion to family, Joe was an avid card player and all around handyman; always fixing and building things around the house.  One hobby of Joe’s was to build and tinker with train sets.  Joe served in the Army during the Korean War.  He spent his career working for RCA.  Later in life, during retirement, Joe and Susan took time to focus on travel, spend time with family, and socialize with friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joseph’s visitation at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S Providence Rd, Wallingford, PA on Friday, May 10 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  There will be a eulogy at 10:45 am prior to Joseph’s funeral mass at 11:00. Information regarding the reception will be announced after the services.  Interment private.
