Joseph "Archie" Goodine. 79, of Smyrna, DE passed away peacefully on April 16, 2014 surrounded by his family.

Born in Medford, New Brunswick, Canada in 1934, Joe was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Madeline (Michaud) Goodine.

He lived in several locations in the Northeastern US and Canada, and he travelled extensively throughout both countries during his lifetime.

Joe was an exceptional handyman, mechanic, and do-it-yourselfer. His family nickname was "MacGuyver." He loved auto and boat racing. In his leisure time, he could be found puttering and tinkering on something in his garage. Above all else, Joe was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Moyer) Goodine; sons, Dorian (Tina), Daniel, Dale (Jennifer), David (Maria) and Derek; brother, Vernon Goodine (Bernice) and sister Carmen Hendrick. He was fondly known as "Papa Joe" to his grandchildren, Rachel, Zachary, Kayla and Paul.
