Joseph W. Homan (Joe), 104, of Paoli, PA, passed away September 5, 2020.
He was born October 30, 1915 in Long Island, NY. He lived in the Boston, MA area most of his life and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
He served honorably in World War II in the U.S. Navy in Naval Aviation. He was stationed at Johnsville, PA, an adjunct of Willow Grove Naval Air Station. At Johnsville, he worked with the Navy in developing drones and other devices for the war. He flew in planes over the Atlantic Ocean testing these devices.
Joe work for 35 years as an electrical engineer for General Electric. He was involved in many electrical developments, including power stations in Brazil and India.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Helen (nee Burke) Homan; loving father of Barbara E. Ludwig (the late Glen); and dear great-uncle of Lawrence DeMuth, Denis DeMuth, and Ronald DeMuth. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gail Homan, and her husband Allen Kantor.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his Visitation Friday, September 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery.
