Joseph E. “Joe” Hussey, age 88, of Havertown, PA, passed away on January 20, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Kathryn Hussey (nee Peoples).
Joe received his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Joseph University in Philadelphia. He had been employed as an Insurance Agent for Allstate Insurance. He served honorably in the United States Army.
Joe was a funny guy. Joe always had a slightly embellished story ready and no matter how many times you heard it, it was still funny. Joe was a passionate sports fan and golfer. He was a 50+ year member, 2 time Club Champion at Rolling Green and had an unbelievable 13 hole-in-ones. Joe and Carole were avid readers and instilled the importance of education in their children and grandchildren. Joe loved being with his family (the entire Hussey clan), more than anything, whether he was attending someone’s game, playing golf, or sitting around the table swapping stories. That is when he was the happiest. Even though Joe had a large family, it grew larger still with the addition of his many cherished friends, young and old. He was there when you needed him, a tough act to follow.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife Carole Hussey (nee Delaney). He was the loving father of Joe (Michelle), Danny, Jimmy, Tommy (Emily) Jennifer and the late Francis X. Hussey. Dear grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Brother of Betty Hollingsworth (the late Al), Eileen O’Hare (the late Jack) and the late Leo Hussey. Also survived by his sister-in-law Betty Hussey.
