Joseph "Joe" Lacava

July 15, 1928 — April 5, 2022

Joseph “Joe” Lacava, age 93, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William and Jennie (née Leonardo) Lacava.

Joe served his country honorably during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.  He was employed as a machine shop operator for General Electric.   He was an avid Eagles fan holding season tickets for 40 years.  He enjoyed trips to Sea Isle City, NJ and above all, his family was everything to him.

Joe was the beloved husband of Theresa M. “Tess” (née Pesce) Lacava; the loving father of Joseph Lacava, Jr. (Stacie), Lisa Mondevergine (Michael), and Mark Lacava (Rafael). He was the proud grandfather of Andrea Nardo (Mike), Joseph Lacava, III (Jackie), Von Mondevergine (Shannon), William Lacava, and Dana Mondevergine-Stymiest (Mike).  He was the great-grandfather of Maeve, Elise, Elliot, Kiera, and Mikey.  Joe is also survived by his brother, Ralph Lacava, as well as his many dear friends.  He is predeceased by six siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Friday, April 8, 2022, 9:30 – 11:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA  19073, followed by his Funeral Mass, 11:00 AM.  Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
