Joseph Kelly

September 10, 1956 — August 22, 2015

Joseph M. Kelly, age 58, of Broomall, PA, passed away on August 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the beloved son of Mary Frances Kelly (nee Lee) and the late Joseph J. Kelly.

Joe was a 1974 graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and quickly joined the Steamfitters Union Local 420 which he proudly served for approximately 40 years.

Joe was a longtime resident of Broomall, PA and an active member of St. Anastasia Church.

He was the epitome of a family man and had a rare passion for work. He was one of the first contractors hired out of Project Control Specialists (PCS). He spent many days at the Trainer refinery which he knew like the back of his hand.

A true craftsman, Joe loved home improvement projects and would joke that he "had a tool for everything." He thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting with his close friends over the years. Some of his simple pleasures included reading the Daily Times with his Wawa hazelnut coffee listening to 60's music. He was a cooking enthusiast and loved making his favorite dishes for company.

Joe will always be remembered for his kind heart, genuine soul, strong work ethic and family values.

He is survived by his beloved wife Joan M. Kelly (nee Wilt), his dear children Matthew Joseph, Lauren Cecilia and Alicia Clair Kelly, his siblings Patrick Kelly (Ann), Michael Kelly (Chris), Margaret Mary Visniskie (John), Brian Kelly (Loretta) and Colleen Foreacre (Tom) and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, August 28, 2015 6:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, August 29, 2015 9:30-10:30 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA (610) 353-6300 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
