Joseph I. Mayer, 83, of Downingtown, PA passed away on August 26, 2014 at Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph John Mayer and the late Wilma (nee Allen).
Joseph was the loving husband of Regina (Baldwin) Mayer; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.
Joseph worked as a computer analyst with the PA Department of Revenue in Harrisburg, PA and later in life worked part time for the Uwchlan Hills Elementary School.
He had many interests including astronomy, the sciences and history. He was a member of two railroad societies.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00-10:00 am Saturday and to his Funeral Service 10:00 am at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, 610-269-3080. Interment White Marsh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380.
