Joseph Thomas "Joe" McCool

Joseph Thomas “Joe” McCool, age 23, of Broomall, PA, sadly passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2024.

Born in Media, PA, he was the beloved son of Thomas J. and Kelly A. (née Cassidy) McCool. 

As a young man, Joe was known for his vibrant spirit, beaming smile and a desire to positively impact those around him. His commitment to his education and his community was evident throughout his academic career. Joe was a proud graduate of Marple Newton High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, Joe was an avid athlete throughout his life excelling at baseball and soccer in his younger years. In high school, he fell in love with running and participated in track and cross country all four years, attaining co-captainship of the track team his senior year. Always protective, thoughtful and observant, Joe set out to pursue a longtime passion for public service, recently graduating from the Police Academy. Joe enjoyed many other interests including working out at the gym, playing golf, Xbox, reading and listening to music. Joe was known for his fiercely competitive nature whether it was through sports, Xbox or even family game nights. 

Joe was greatly loved by his extensive family. He is survived by his loving parents, Thomas J. McCool and Kelly A. McCool; his caring sister, Kyra McCool; as well as his dear Nana, Helen Cassidy; and countless aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe, we dearly love you, miss you and we know in our hearts you are at peace.

A Visitation will be held in Joe’s honor on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held privately.

 Contributions in Joe’s memory would be appreciated to Morgan’s Message Inc., 5816 Wellington Road, Gainesville, VA 20155, https://www.morgansmessage.org/donate, a non-profit organization whose goal is to support students and athletes struggling with mental health issues.
