Joseph R. McMahon, of Springfield, formerly of Morton, passed away on September 27, 2016.
Born in 1950 in Darby, he was the son of the late Francis and Helen (nee Fox) McMahon. Joseph enjoyed, fishing, skiing, travelling, and being outdoors. He had a passion for cars (Mustangs in particular). Despite being confined to a wheel chair, had a positive attitude and did not let it hold him back. Joseph participated in a rowing program for the disabled. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Carole McMahon (nee Shaw); the loving father of Paul McMahon, Mark McMahon (Jess), and Brian McMahon (Katie); the loving grandfather of Jaxon, Frankie, Ava, Shadon, Mercedes, and Silver; the dear brother of Robert McMahon, Kathleen Clifton, John McMahon, Ann Marie Will, Thomas McMahon, the late Frank McMahon, Jr., and the late Patrick McMahon; he was the brother-in-law of Barbara Shaw and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The McMahon family would like to thank all Joseph's caregivers, especially Harold, Sandy, Rochell, Mohammad, and Aminata.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, September 30, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA 19070 followed by his Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory to Freedom Valley Disability Center, 3607 Chapel Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073 would be appreciated.
