Joseph Peter Rescigno

Joseph Peter Rescigno, a devoted husband, loving father, and distinguished veteran, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his residence in Rancho Mirage, California, at the age of 82. His wife of 38 years, Julie Rescigno, and son Nick Rescigno were by his side during his final moments.

Born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, on December 21, 1942, Joseph was the son of Rose and Onofrio Rescigno. He received a catholic school education before pursuing his studies at Villanova University, where he earned a law degree. Joseph's courageous service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War resulted in his promotion to the rank of corporal and the receipt of five commendable medals.

Known affectionately as "Joe" to his friends, he ardently supported Philadelphia sports teams, including the Eagles, Villanova, Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers. His joy was undeniable when the Philadelphia Eagles triumphed in the 2025 Super Bowl, despite his reservations about Coach Sirianni. Joe's enthusiasm extended to his love of cars, demonstrated through his avid consumption of car magazines, TV shows, and dedication to following Formula One Racing. He also took great pride in curating the interior design of his home and delighted in tending to the fruit trees in his backyard, always eager to share their bounty with friends and family.

Joseph Rescigno will be remembered fondly for his unwavering strength, boundless generosity, indomitable resilience, and profound love for his family. His legacy of kindness and his emphasis on the importance of nurturing strong familial bonds will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joseph is survived by his devoted wife Julie and beloved son Nick. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.  Interment following at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
