Joseph C. Scavitto, 94, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away August 13, 2020.
Born September 13, 1925 in Calvaruso, Sicily, Italy, he was a son of the late Charles and Frances (nee Castiglia) Scavitto.
Joseph worked in the food service industry since he was 12, helping his father in the family restaurant. In the early 1990's he and his two brothers became owners of his father's business, John's Hotdogs in Upper Darby.
He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina L. (nee Grandizio) Scavitto; loving father of Charles P. Scavitto, Fran M. Gough (Ray), Joseph P. Scavitto (Maria), and Rosemary Ferry (Kevin); adoring grandfather of Stephanie, Matthew, Daniel, Kevin, Brian, Angelina, and Joey; caring great-grandfather of 5 great-grandchildren; and dear brother of Josephine Scavitto, Frances Hunter, Jane Pisano, Nancy Haftmann, Charles Scavitto (Judy), and Rose Kemme (George). He was predeceased by his sister, Lily Scavitto, and his brother, John Scavitto.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Ss Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
Social distancing and facial coverings are required at all times. Due to state restrictions we are limited to 25 people in the building at one time.
