Joseph Sharkey

Joseph Missett Sharkey, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on December 6, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. John Sharkey and Helen (nee Cronin).

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Carolie Smith Sharkey; his devoted children Greg (Ginny), John (Wendy), and Steve (Heidi); and his brother Bill. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Samantha, Dylan, Maura, Rowan, Eloise, Amelia, Jack, and Jamie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Joe valued his faith and his relationships with family and friends above all else.

Relatives and friends are invited on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 to a Visitation at Presentation BVM Catholic Church, 240 Haverford Road, Wynnewood, PA from 9-10:20 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.

ln lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his honor to the Spanish Scholarship Fund, Villa St. Joseph, 1436 Lansdowne Avenue, Darby, PA 19023.
