Joseph A. Whalen, Jr., 62, of West Chester, PA, passed away on January 5, 2019.
Born in Chester, PA in 1956, he was the son of Joseph A. Whalen and the late Betty (nee Butler) Nolan. Joseph was a graduate of Salesianum Catholic School. He was an avid Eagles fan and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Joseph was known as an excellent griller to his friends and family.
He was the beloved husband of Margaret A. (nee Mumley) Whalen, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage; loving father of Joseph P. Whalen (Melissa) and Patrick W. Whalen; caring grandfather of Ryan Whalen; dear brother of Linda Wagner (Ronald) and John Bosch (Joette).
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9-10:30 AM Friday, January 11, 2019 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Gift of Life, 401 N. 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123, would be appreciated.
