Joshua Shaker

January 30, 1988 — July 7, 2020

Joshua William Shaker passed from this life unexpectedly on July 7, 2020. Josh was the beloved son of Roseanne (née Bogan) Paradiso (Lloyd) and William Shaker (Kate). He is also survived by loving sisters, Emily Shaker and Libby Wilcox, brother-in-law, Seth Wilcox, stepsisters, Amy Amato and Julia Doll and stepbrothers, Andrew Amato, Thomas Paradiso and Robert Paradiso. He adored his nieces, Tessa Shaker, Claire Shaker, Ava Wilcox, Cassidy Wilcox, Hannah Wilcox and his nephew, Miles Wilcox. He was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Annette and Warren Bogan of Woonsocket, RI and Wanda and David Shaker of North Adams, MA. Josh cherished his countless, loving relatives and friends.

Josh, a lifelong resident of West Chester, PA, was born in Farmington, CT on January 30, 1988. He graduated from West Chester East High School in 2006 and earned his degree in Business Management from West Chester University in 2012. A true Renaissance man, Josh worked at many things and many places, most recently as Personal Training Director/General Manager for LA Fitness.

Athletically inclined, Josh played numerous sports throughout his life, including baseball, basketball, racquetball, roller and ice hockey, tennis and golf. He was passionate about nutrition, health and fitness. He loved testing his physical limits, participating in endurance and obstacle courses and mud runs, completing Tough Mudder twice.

Compassionate and sensitive, Josh was a bright light who positively affected the lives of many and touched everyone blessed to have known him. He was a believer in spirituality, philosophically inclined and fought for social justice.

He deeply loved his family and his friends. He adored children and thoroughly enjoyed music, standup comedy, movies and travel. Josh was artistic and creative, enjoyed painting in acrylics and watercolor, cooking and very recently set his mind to learning to play guitar. Naturally blessed with an analytical mind, he loved research and often took on difficult projects. People will undoubtedly remember his great sense of humor and playfulness. Despite battling anxiety, he maintained an irrepressibly positive spirit, a determination to continually better himself and he strove to motivate those around him.

Josh made a huge impact in the short time he was here. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be scheduled when the pandemic concerns are in the past.
