Joyce S. Brown

Joyce S. Brown (nee Serwalt), age 84, of Radnor, PA, passed away on November 20, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (nee Dunn) Serwalt.

Joyce was the beloved wife of R. Franklin Brown, Jr.; loving mother of Nicole Brown, who was her very best friend and favorite travel companion.

Joyce was a graduate of the Stevens School in Chestnut Hill and the University of Pennsylvania. She worked as a buyer at Bonwit Teller in New York and continued working in retail on and off. She was an active volunteer for many years at The Agnes Irwin School, where her daughter attended.

Joyce was very involved with helping her husband in his business of running conventions. 

Joyce’s most special place was in her gardens. She was a member of the Villanova Garden Club.

Joyce cherished her many dogs over the years and was an avid supporter of many animal charities.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 1:30-2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087, 610-989-9600, followed by her Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any no-kill animal charity.
