Joyce Lewis Johnson, 85, of Williamston, NC passed away on January 21, 2014 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester Pennsylvania.
Born in 1928 in Roper, NC, Joyce was the daughter of the late Janice (Lewis) and Joseph Nowarah.
She earned her Associates Degree and worked as an Administrative Assistant in the healthcare field in Ohio until her retirement.
Joyce loved crabbing, visiting antique shops and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, James N. Johnson.
Joyce was the loving mother of Jayne Smith (Rex) of Pennsylvania and James Johnson (Anna) of Georgia; loving grandmother of Kate Steimel, Sam Smith, Jordan Palmer , Ben & Alex Johnson and seven great-grandchildren; and dear sister Betty Griffin and the late Ruth Paul, brothers Joe and Mitchell Nowarah
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated in honor of Joyce 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Williamston, 114 East Church Street, Williamston, NC 27892, phone: 252-792-3360.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Williamston at the above address.
