Judith Shechter, 72, of Media passed away on 5/23/24 after a brief illness.
Judy was born in Queens, New York, graduated from the University of Rochester and earned a PhD in psychology from SUNY-Albany. She was an exemplary clinician of superb compassion, insight, and wisdom as can be attested by the numerous patients she treated during some 45 years of professional work. In addition to psychotherapy, Judy conducted neuropsychological evaluations noted for their clarity, scientific support, and detailed recommendations. She traveled widely, was fond of visiting casinos to play penny slot machines, and loved colorful jewelry.
Judy was a vivacious, loving, thoughtful, and stylish woman with exquisite eyes who cherished her family and many friends. She is profoundly missed and mourned by all - her husband of 32 years, Bruce Caplan, her daughter, Samantha Shechter, and her stepchildren, Lindsay Caplan and Adam Caplan, in all of whose memories of unforgettable times with her Judy lives on.
