Judy Jo Iemolo

Judy Jo Iemolo (nee Slaughter), age 80, of Wayne, PA, passed away on December 1, 2022.  Born in Clayton, Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Julia Slaughter (nee Johnson).

Judy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Iemolo for over 50 years, loving mother of her two sons: David Iemolo (Denise), and Fred Iemolo (Janet); and devoted grandmother of Owen Iemolo, Parker Iemolo, and Lucy Iemolo.

Raised in central Delaware, Judy graduated from Smyrna High School.  Afterwards she moved to Philadelphia to attend the Dorothy Thomas School of Retail Management.  Upon graduation, she started her career with John Wannamaker Department Store.  While in Philadelphia she met her future husband, Joe.  After taking time off to raise her children, Judy rediscovered her passion for retail and worked for several local companies over the years.  In later years, her love for all things retail was evident in her zest for fashion and shopping.  Judy was always stylishly dressed and well accessorized.

Judy and Joe shared a love for travel and spending time with friends and family.  She particularly enjoyed family vacations at Rehoboth Beach, where she had spent summers growing up. Additionally, Judy had a passion for the arts and enjoyed both drawing and collecting.  One of her greatest joys in later years was spending time with her grandchildren.

With her amazing outlook, gregarious personality, and infectious smile, Judy endeared herself to everyone she met.  She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087, 610-989-9600.  Interment will follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
