Julius Kamper, age 89, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on November 17, 2024. Born in Sopron, Hungary, he was the son of the late Gyula and Vilma Kamper (nee Kóczán). He came to America after the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. In 1960, he co-founded JMT Machine Co., serving as president for many years. He married the love of his life, Anna, in 1959, and raised his family in Huntingdon Valley, PA. He also lived in Avalon, NJ and Newtown Square, PA. Julius was a man of great integrity, and he often called America “my land of opportunity.” He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. A man of many interests, he delighted in sharing his love of travel and adventure with his family. Julius was deeply cherished and will be forever remembered for his passion for life and unwavering optimism.
Julius was the beloved husband of Anna “Anne” Kamper (nee Stocker); loving father of Marie Wilson (Robert Wilson), Caroline Davis, M.D. (Paul Davis, M.D.), and Julius “Jules” Kamper (Kathleen Gallagher); adoring Poppy of Emily, Kyle, Alicen, Paige (Roger), P. Spencer, Michael, Marie, and Monica. Julius was predeceased by his beloved second mother, Helen Wonisch Kamper; his sister, Maria Matilda “Tildi” Kamper; his in-laws, Nikolaus and Elisabeth Stocker; and his grandson Gregory Wilson.
Relatives and friends are invited to Julius’ Viewing 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073 and 9:30-10:30 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Private.
