June W. King (nee Weigand), age 89, of Havertown, PA, passed away on May 28, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter P. and Irene A. Weigand (nee Keilman). After graduating from Glen-Nor High School, she went on to Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. King then spent the next 30 years as an R.N. working as a hospital floor nurse, intensive care nurse, and a private duty nurse. After retiring from her nursing career, she became a nationally published author, poet, teacher and mentor to aspiring writers.
June is survived by her beloved husband Richard W. King, her four daughters, Linda B. Rappaport, Judith A. Rhodehamel, Andria J. Meuller and Melissa B. King-Biggs, MD and her 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
