Karen Elaine Yanchitis, 58, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on June 29, 2016 after an 18-year courageous fight against brain cancer.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1958, she was the daughter of Karen (nee Callahan) and the late William Dufer.
Karen was the beloved wife of Arthur Benjamin Yanchitis for 35 years; the loving mother of Lisa Marie (Mark) Watkinson, Megan Elizabeth Yanchitis, and Kevin Arthur Yanchitis; sister of Michele (Nick) Palmieri, Carol (Anthony) Mele, Michael (Veronika) Dufer, and the late Denise Dufer; daughter-in-law of Arthur and Marion Yanchitis.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 9:30-10:45 AM Saturday, July 2, 2016 at St. Joseph's Church, 338 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335 followed by her funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association of Chester County, Inc., 749 Springdale Drive, Exton, PA 19341.
