Karl P. Voigt, III

Karl P. Voigt III, 77, of Gilbertsville, PA passed away suddenly on October 7, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents Karl P. Voigt, Jr. and Theresa G. Voigt (née Rose) of Folsom, PA and his brother Tony Voigt.

Karl is survived by his son Karl P. Voigt IV (Sabina), daughters Nicole E. Arey (Matthew) and Gretchen Kessler (Patrick), grandchildren Anthony, Anilyse, Romeo, Karl V and Enzo and his brother Louis Voigt (Kay).

Karl grew up in Folsom, PA, graduating from Ridley High in 1964. Attending mostly night school, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Widener University in 1977. He later earned his MBA from Penn State University in 1997. He was a loyal Engineer with PECO/Exelon for almost five decades.

Karl was known as “Barney” to some friends and family. He was a passionate collector of firearms, coins and model trains. He loved reading books, particularly spy novels. On and off-season, he was a huge Phillies devotee. He was always a fan of the underdog unless, of course, that underdog was playing the Phillies or the Flyers. He loved Italian food, Italian hoagies and Italian rum cake. You could always hear classic country music in his home when sports weren’t on the television.

Family and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home 746 Kedron Ave. Morton, PA 19070 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made in Karl’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38101: donors@stjude.org
