Kathie Heckert

Kathie Ann Heckert, 59, of Downingtown, PA, passed away February 17, 2021.

Born September 18, 1961 in West Chester, PA, she was a daughter of Hazel L. (nee Fisher) Dunlap and the late Earl M. Dunlap, Sr.

Kathie’s love in life was her family. She enjoyed spending time in Cape May, NJ and she was an excellent bargain shopper. She graduated Coatesville Area Senior High School class of 1979. She worked for the Coatesville Area School District for nearly 40 years, until she was furloughed in 2020.

She was the beloved wife of Brian A. Heckert; loving mother of Michael K. Heckert, Matthew B. Heckert, and Rachall E. Heckert; dear sister of Lorie E. Dunlap, Earl M. Dunlap, Jr. (Donna), and Lawrence J. Dunlap Sr., (Susan); caring aunt of Earl M. Dunlap, III, Zachary A. Dunlap (Jasmine), Joshua L. Dunlap, Heather S. Kimble (Jason), Lawrence J. Dunlap, Jr., and devoted great-aunt of Elias Kimble and Zion Kimble. She will also be missed by her loving aunt, Romaine R. Dunlap, who she thought of as a second mother; mother-in-law, Betty K. Heckert; brother-in-law, Thomas L. Heckert, Jr.; uncle, Roland A. Dunlap (Anne); and cousin, Kyle W. Dunlap. She was preceded in death by her great-niece, Hannah S. Kimble.

Services will be private due to the pandemic. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Kathie when it is safe to do so.
