Kathleen P. "Bunnie" Culp

January 16, 1948 — March 6, 2025

Havertown, PA

Kathleen, affectionately known as “Bunnie” to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on March 6th with her family by her side. She had courageously battled against a series of infections in the prior months.

Kathleen was proud of her career as a nurse. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College School of Nursing in 1968 and worked at Haverford State Hospital until 1975. After some time as a full time mom to 3 children, she returned to Eastern University where she received a Master’s Degree in Education and returned to work as a school nurse at Chester Upland School District for over 13 years. She was dedicated to and respected by her students.

Her support of her children was unwavering, and she was frequently seen in their schools volunteering for lunch duty or chairing the school events. Her home was warm and welcoming and frequently hosted the kids and their friends.

Her greatest joy was spending time in her beloved Ocean City, New Jersey, and spoiling her grandchildren. She could always be seen sitting on the porch with a book and a Diet Pepsi in hand and was always ready for a night out on the boardwalk. She loved to tell her grandkids stories about when their parents were young. Her grandkids were fortunate to have her as their babysitter in their first years and they grew strong bonds with one another. The grandkids referred to her as ‘Nana’ or ‘Nina’ and they were so fortunate to have her at their recitals and games. She was an adored grandmother.

As friends and family are learning of her passing, they are recalling a kind and spirited person, filled with warmth and generosity.

Bunnie is survived by her 3 children, Bill (Fatima) of Norfolk, VA, Jonathan (Chalon) of Ashburn, VA, and Kara Quinn (Peter) of Chester Springs, PA, as well as her 4 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Jonathan, Nathan, and Braydon. She was also the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Don, Larry, and Elaine Halberstadt.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bunnie’s visitation on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM followed by her funeral service at 11:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
