Kathleen Czermanski

d. September 10, 2024

Wayne

Kathleen “Kathy” Czermanski, of Wayne, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, surrounded by family. Kathy was a beloved mother, teacher, entrepreneur, and matriarch. Her work ethic, style, generosity and sense of humor will leave a lasting mark on many people that she encountered in her 75 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph Mallon and Mary (Graham) Mallon, Kathy was raised in King of Prussia, PA went to Rosemont College and graduated from Gwynedd Mercy College, where she would later serve on the Board of Trustees.

Following college, she taught mathematics at St. Francis in Norristown, where she had a positive impact on many students, some of whom she remained in contact with throughout her life. Always a hard worker, she was fascinated with entrepreneurship and always maintained several jobs and business projects. A true visionary, Kathy recognized underserved needs in healthcare media long before others did. Seizing the opportunity, she began Great Valley Publishing from the basement of her home in 1988. What started as a modest endeavor quickly grew into numerous nationally-recognized media brands and continues today as a national media company.

Her ability to foresee trends, innovate, and meet her audiences’ needs set her apart as a leader in healthcare media. Through her leadership, Kathy demonstrated that even the smallest beginnings could transform into something extraordinary when passion, vision and hard work are combined.

But while her professional accomplishments were many, it was her role as the matriarch of her family that truly defined her. She brought her family together with her warmth and joyful spirit. Her home in Avalon, NJ, was a cherished gathering place where family came together, and was the site of decades of legendary July 4th celebrations.

Above all, Kathy’s sons, Matthew and Jeffrey, made her most happy. It was Matthew’s and Jeffrey’s accomplishments that made Kathy most proud, and their many family trips and experience were the source of fascinating and amusing stories. Matthew and Jeffrey were her closest confidants and companions, and will miss her dearly.

Always impeccably dressed and accessorized, Kathy carried herself with an effortless style that matched her sharp mind and bold leadership. She was always on top of the latest news, current events and pop culture. She never missed a chance to engage in a good conversation and share a laugh. She was appreciative of time with family and friends, and found joy in both the big and small moments, often remarking that “it doesn’t get any better than this.”

Kathy is survived by sons, Matthew (Allie) Czermanski and Jeffrey Czermanski of Wayne, sister Marianne Mallon of Royersford, former husband Sandy Czermanski (with whom she shared sons and a lifelong friendship and mutual respect) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, and many cousins.
