Kathleen A. Dougherty, age 77, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on April 3, 2024. Kathleen was a woman cherished for her loving, caring, understanding, and funny nature by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Sheridan (nee Jordan).
In her youth, Kathleen received her education at West Catholic High School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth. Kathleen's journey through life was marked by kindness and warmth that touched the hearts of many. Her laughter brightened the darkest days, and her compassionate spirit brought solace to those in need. Kathleen's love for plants, interior decorating, and shopping reflected her vibrant personality and eye for beauty. North Wildwood Beach held a special place in her heart, where she found peace and joy in the calming embrace of the sea. She had a fondness for seafood and tea, particularly enjoying flavors like sleep time, vanilla, and celestial.
Her dedication to her family was unwavering; she was the beloved wife of the late James M. "Doc" Dougherty. Loving mother of Michelle "Missy" Cunningham (Jim) and Jim Dougherty. Adoring grandmother of Jimmy, Ryan, and Amanda. Devoted sister of Dennis Sheridan (Colleen) and the late Thomas Sheridan Jr. (Kathleen).
The world has lost a beacon of light with Kathleen's passing. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were privileged to have known her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
