Kathleen B. Langdon

March 27, 1934 — December 14, 2022

Kathleen (nee Bender) Langdon, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2022, at her home in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved wife of James R. Langdon, and devoted mother of James R. Langdon, Jr., Mark (Bernadette) Langdon, Kathleen (Neal) Andrews, and Robert (Tracy) Langdon. She dearly loved her eight grandchildren, Ryan (Taylor), Sean, Paul (Ami), William (Gabrielle), Anne, Victoria and Grace Langdon, Brian Andrews, and her beautiful great grandchildren, Aria, Alexa, McKenzie, Eve and Luc.  Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Frank C. and Helen V. Bender, and by her sister Helen (Petsy) and brother Dr. Thomas (Elizabeth) Bender.  She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Kelley, her brother Frank C. Bender, Jr. (Elizabeth), and by many loving nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Kathy attended Sacred Heart Academy and obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Manhattanville College in 1955. She married Jim in 1958. They bought their first home in Whiteland Farms, Malvern, and then resided for many years in Radnor before moving to Berwyn.

Kathy loved people and enjoyed a long career as a realtor.  She loved the camaraderie of the profession and the joy of helping her clients—often repeat clients—find their perfect homes. She was a long-time member of Martin’s Dam swim and racquet club, and especially enjoyed playing tennis and traveling with good friends.

“Our” Kathy was a wonderful wife and mother—a woman of great faith and conviction, with a tender heart and powerful strength of character. We will dearly miss her warmth, her great sense of humor and her devotion to family, and we will carry her in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Kathy's family between 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Monica's Church, 635 First Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312, followed by her Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Kathy’s favorite charities, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306; an organization committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and aiding the victims of major U.S. disasters.
