Kathleen Ann Needham (nee Wimer) of Malvern, PA and Lewes, DE, passed away this past Thursday the 10th of November, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in 1946 in Harrisburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Mary H. (nee Heissenbuttel) Wimer.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of Gary R. Needham; loving mother of Christopher T. Needham and Timothy R. (Leigh); dear sister of Joan McTeague (Joseph), Richard Wimer (Janice), and Thomas Wimer; loving grandmother of Connor and Chloe.
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science from Immaculata University in 1968. Kathy spent her professional career as an IT consultant specializing in document imaging, working for several consulting firms including Unisys and KPMG/Bearing Point.
In her retirement, she volunteered as Sound Engineer for the non-profit Stages of Imagination Theater, which traveled to schools throughout the Philadelphia area to perform educational plays for thousands of young school children. She was especially proud of the organization's aim to provide positive guidance to school children in lower income, disadvantaged areas of the city.
Kathy's family will remember her as a lover of books, sailing and spending time at the family beach home in Delaware. She was an avid photographer, choosing to spend her time capturing the beauty of the world around her. She most enjoyed sharing treasured time with her family and friends, and lived her life giving more than she asked.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 followed by her Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathleen's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
