Kathleen O'Doherty
October 4, 1924 — September 10, 2017
Kathleen M. O'Doherty (nee Quinn), age 92, of Media, PA, passed away on September 10, 2017. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hugh H. and Susan Quinn (nee Ward). Kathleen was employed as an Executive Secretary for the Franklin Mint.
Kathleen was predeceased by her beloved husband, John J. O'Doherty and son, Johnnie. She is survived by her loving children Liam T. O'Doherty, O.S.A., Hugh M. O'Doherty (Eileen Ryan) and Kathleen M. O'Donnell (John), her grandchildren Melissa, Drew, Jennifer, Paris and David and her great-grandchildren Trinh, Finley, Nolan and Ronan. Also survived by her sister Suzanne Gibson.
Federal Reserve Bank office worker; Red Cross Candystriper, turned licensed practical nurse; Red Cross bandage roller; and Civilian Defense Air Raid Warden. All 4 at the same time, between the summer of 1942, and the surrender of Japan!
Then wife; mother of 4; a successful pioneer, with Dad, in persuading local government to assist in the costs of special education; with her father and sister, cared for our grandmother suffering from MS; choir singer; multi-instrumentalist; fill-in organist in 2 churches; the "uber" who hauled us kids to and from swim team practice, Boy Scouts, Irish step dancing lessons, early morning altar boy assignments; play and choir rehearsals, Red Cross lifesaving courses, and the driver for scores of family members, friends, and their friends needing to go to medical appointments, throughout the Delaware Valley.
Mom, thank you for your example of love, service, advocacy, and generosity! Thank you for the laughter and music, too!

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday, September 16, 2017 9:00-10:00 AM Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathleen's memory to the Augustinian Fund, 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA 19085 would be appreciated.
