Kathleen C. Walls

Kathleen C. Walls, 78, of Downingtown, PA, passed away October 1, 2024.

Born August 28, 1946 in Yeadon, PA, she was a daughter of the late James J. and Eleanor E. (nee Madden) Lyons.

Kathy graduated from St. Katherine’s High School in 1964. Over the years, she worked in the Osseo Minnesota School District, at New York Life, as an administrator at ECS/XL Insurance, and most recently, as the Chief Financial Officer for Team Concepts Inc.

Kathy grew up on the Main Line area outside Philadelphia, moved to Minnesota with her husband and children in 1978, and was very relieved to be done with Minnesota's two seasons - winter and road repair - and to move back to the Philadelphia area after six years.

Kathy was selfless and cared for other people always, never putting herself first. She was a loving and much loved wife, sister, mother, and friend. She was always ready to offer a hand to a friend or family member in need and was a fierce advocate for those she loved. 

Kathy enjoyed singing, cooking, reading and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions. She liked hosting dinner parties and spending time with friends and family. Kathy also loved traveling and exploring the world around her. Some of her fun trips were to Italy, Germany, Hawaii, and Seoul, South Korea to cheer on her younger brother Dan in the 1988 Olympics. 

Kathleen was the beloved wife of Thomas F. Walls, Jr.; loving mother of Thomas F. Walls, III (Michele), Jim Walls (Theresa), and Ellie Ratigan (Dave McClay); adoring grandmother of Gus, Julia, Leo, James, Fred, Brendan, and Isaac; dear sister of Joanne Lyons-Penttila (the late Al), James Lyons (Ellen), Daniel Lyons (Bobbi), and Vicki Lyons-Keane (Tim); and best friend of Carol Fish. She was predeceased by her sister, Jackie.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. An additional Viewing will take place from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Saints Philip and James Church, 723 Lincoln Hwy E, Exton, PA 19341, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM and interment at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
