Kathryn L. Felker

October 6, 1962 — October 4, 2024

Kathryn L. Felker, 61, of Ocean Pines, MD, passed away October 4, 2024 after fighting a courageous battle of cancer.

Born October 6, 1962 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Edward R. Kohnstam and Hylda (nee Klinefelter) Kohnstam, MD.

She graduated from Garnet Valley High School. She went on to attend West Chester University and later received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Widener University. She built a distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant, providing guidance and expertise to her clients and colleagues.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kathryn’s life was enriched by her passion for music. A talented musician, she played the trumpet and keyboard in a local band, as well as bells and sang in the choir at her church, sharing her love of music with her community. She also dedicated herself to fostering a love of music in the next generation, serving as a “band mom” while her children were in high school marching band, ensuring their experiences in music were full of support and encouragement.

Kathryn’s nurturing spirit extended beyond music. As a Girl Scout leader, she guided many young girls through formative years, teaching them valuable life skills and the importance of community. She was also a lover of the water and an adventurous soul, enjoying countless days boating and jet skiing with her family. One of her fondest memories was sailing around the British Virgin Islands with her family, where she embraced the beauty of the sea.

Kathryn’s warmth and generosity were evident to everyone she met. She had an extraordinary ability to make others feel welcome and valued, and she could strike up a conversation with anyone.

Kathryn was the beloved wife of Timothy J. Felker; loving mother of Stacy Almand (Hayes), and Timothy P. Felker; adoring sister of Charles Kohnstam (Lorna); and dear "niece" of Alice Boeshore. She was a devoted wife, mother, friend and community member, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories.
