Katie Lou Rankin (nee Lassiter), 82, of Newtown Square, PA passed away on June 22, 2016.
Born in Newport News, VA, Katie was the beloved daughter of the late William K. and Mary G. (Crumpler) Lassiter.
A longtime resident of Newtown Square, PA, she loved singing at the piano bar at Aronimink Golf Club and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers, especially orchids and her Christmas Cactus, which always bloomed in July.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Rankin.
Katie was the loving mother of Walter A. Rankin, Stacey R. Welk, Richard M. Rankin and Christopher K. Rankin; loving grandmother of Andrew, Michelle, Erik, Devon, Austin and Julia.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, where friends may visit the family 10:00-11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
