Kay Elsie Trail, age 76, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021.
Born in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Aaron and Elizabeth (Drotleff) Johnson.
Kay graduated from Chambersburg Area High School in 1963 and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State in 1967. She went on to obtain her Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education from Immaculata University, and her Master’s Degree from West Chester University. She was employed as a school teacher at Collegium Charter School. Kay loved the Lord with all her heart and counted it her privilege to help many people. Kay was an educator, social worker, advocate, and intercessor. She loved to see people set free by Christ and find healing in His name. For the last 25 years, Friday nights, at her home, became a place where youth and young adults found Christ. She loved missions locally and abroad and was deeply committed to the Liberian community.
Kay was the loving mother of Elizabeth VanArsdale (Bob), Heather Maruca (Jon), Wendy Madanat (Emanuele), and Eskul Koliyah (EllaMae). She was the devoted grandmother of David VanArsdale, Hannah Hayward, Lauren VanArsdale, Luke Maruca, Levi Maruca, Leah Maruca, Caleb Madanat, Gabriel Madanat, Rachel Madanat, Mark Madanat, Elias Koliyah and Ellianna Koliyah. She is also survived by her former spouse, Charles Trail.
Kay Trail loved the Lord and truly sought to show others his love. Her young heart never aged as she spent time working with youth and chaired the Cold Water Boyz to help with schools and child sponsorship in Liberia.
