Kevlin Walter Smith, 91, of Drexel Hill, passed away on December 3, 2016.
Born in Village of Elba, NY, he was the son of the late Walter Emery and Margaret Mary (nee Kevlin) Smith. Kevlin served honorably in the US Army during WWII and was awarded two Bronze Stars and the Silver Star for bravery under fire for stringing communications wire under fire. He was part of the Rainbow Division who liberated Dachau. He was a Mechanical Engineer with Ritter Engineering Co. until his retirement in 2009.
Kevlin was the beloved husband to the late Carol Smith (nee Luckins); loving father of Lynn Smith Zubernis, Diane Dixie Pepper (Bud) and Glenn Kevlin Smith (Suzanne); grandfather of eight; great-grandfather of two; dear brother to the late Dixie Smith Rodgers and the late Frederica Venable Morris; beloved uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation from 9:30-10:30 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by his Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM. Interment is private.
